Every year, we all set good intentions in the build up to Christmas. To slow down, to cut back, to reduce waste, and to make choices more in line with our values and future goals.
From finding a balance between self care and wellbeing, while embracing the festivities, to buying quality items, while sticking to a budget.
All year round, we’re here to share our love for small-batch beauty and wellbeing products, but we’re a lifestyle concept, not just a retail concept, and we enjoy sharing our own experiences to help you create your own Remedy this Christmas…
Black Friday
The Remedy was built on a foundation of love for our planet - to prioritise quality over quantity, a slow living with thought and care, and a desire to reduce overconsumption and waste. These are just a handful of reasons why we choose to not take part in Black Friday.
We curate our shelves with results-driven products, made with love from people with sustainable priorities and eco-friendly credentials.
Every time you shop from us, or any other small or independent business, you’re supporting a more thoughtful, human way of doing business. You help sustain local craftsmanship, strengthen your community’s economy, and when you buy quality goods, you’re buying items that are made with integrity and expertise - a product made with quality ingredients will last longer, and provide better results.
We want to say a big thank you to everyone who supports us and other businesses in our fabulous Leigh-on-Sea community.
Don’t Let Your Self Care Slip
We know that our wellbeing and health can be impacted if we’re ‘burning too many candles’, so perhaps it’s time to swap some of those metaphoric candles, to a real one to create your own wellness inspired sanctuary at home.
We’re taking inspiration from peers this Christmas, by spacing out our socialising. From a couple of 'Christmas in January’ events planned, we’re also scheduling some nights in instead of all the nights out.
We’re planning a few daytime meetups so that we’re not compromising too many early nights, and we’re also prioritising family time with intent - be it movie nights, a fun afternoon of wrapping together, enjoying local woodland walks with friends, and simply just being present at home with our children.
We’re all for a good pamper here. A night out on the town could cost more (financially, emotionally and wellbeing) than an evening of self care at home. From bath time rituals with face masks and bath bombs, or reading a good book with a hot mug of cacao and the scent of your favourite candle. We all need to press that pause and reset button at times.
For us, it’s about finding a balance. To enjoy time with loved ones, to embrace the festivities and put on our red lipstick, but to also take care of overall wellbeing, to reduce the risk of burnout and to be present and enjoy the season.
Eco-Friendly Christmas
Every year we try to find interesting and new ways to make our Christmastime a little bit more planet-friendly.
Shopping small and local is a big one for us. We prioritise sustainable gifting because we care about the planet and landfill pressures, hence why we choose to step away from the cycle of rapid production, overspending, flash sales and short-lived trends around Black Friday. We’d love to hear of your favourite businesses in and around Leigh-on-Sea that we can support this Christmas!
We see so much inspiration online about nature-inspired table decorations that we’d love to try to make this year. We’re also reusing last year’s gift bags and gift wrap (that didn’t get totally destroyed in excitement!). We love collecting ribbons and bits of crafts for presenting our gifts too.
Bought with love, made with love, and wrapped with love. Christmas is a feeling, right?!
We love to hear your tips for an eco-friendly Christmas.
