Summer Solstice (Saturday 21st June) is a time of renewal and abundance, allowing your heart to open and to receive powerful illumination. Summer Solstice is synonymous with sunlight, joy, growth, Gaia, Goddess, fertility, prosperity, abundance, radiance, joy, success, self-confidence, strength, and positive energy.
Amanda Catherine Tarot, shares her wisdom on how to create your own Summer Solstice ritual at home...
“As women we are the summer solstice, our existence is the representation summer solstice.” - Amanda Catherine Tarot
Summer solstice is a time to pause, if spring is the time of action where everything is emerging, and springing into life, summer is a time to relax and reap the rewards of seeds sown, metaphorically and literally. The seeds are sown in the earth and in our souls. It's a time to turn inward, to nourish ourselves and to pause, and have patience.
Creating your own rituals is perhaps the most deeply personal way you can engage with your spirituality - there are so many different elements of a ritual to choose from, and endless ways to suit each individual or spiritual practice.
This Summer Solstice, spend time outside in nature, paying attention to what's around you, and just enjoy being present. Allow the rays of the sun to bring you warmth, revitalise your spirit, and bring you a new beginning. Then, light a candle or incense, run a beautiful bath, and practice rituals of self love. Products in the aromatherapy and crystal healing Palm of Feronia range are beautiful to use as part of your ritual.
The Summer Solstice is a time of renewal and abundance, and a time of love and expansion. As the summer sun unfolds the leaves on the trees, so can our hearts open to receive the light of source to illuminate that which is within each of us, making this the perfect time to give thanks and set intention.
Here are some of the elements I include in my rituals...
Flowers to represent the season.
Salt…Essential oils, Bath salts (for joy) clearing energy, cleaning and protection.
Fruit… to represent love and fertility.
Rose water… to represent the element of water.
Pink candle… for the element of fire.
Crystals... to represent the element of earth. Including Rose Quartz, Aventurine, Jade, Clear Quartz, Selenite, and Moldavite.
Feathers… to represent the element of air.
Paper and pen… to write down my intentions.
On Summer Solstice, I'll use the rose petals, salts and essential oils in my bath, clearing any negative energy that I’ve gathered throughout the day. Then I’ll sit outside in my garden and set my intentions. Just before I do this, I’ll surround myself in white light energy. Remember this is your ritual, be as creative as you like, because this is a time to focus solely on you.
After saying a few words and giving thanks, I’ll meditate and focus on all the things I am thankful for, before writing down my intentions, and placing them under the candle, and finally eating my chosen fruit and drinking the rose water.
What happens next is up to you. Some choose to burn their intentions, or leave them out with the rest of the offerings - which is what I'll do, as this allows them to soak up the powerful energy of the sun.
Remember this is YOUR time, so add in elements to make this as personally magical, or as simple as you wish.
Solstice blessings.
